Hi! My name is Coolen and I live in the Philippines. I love art, history, reading, listening to music and watching television shows and movies.

I like to read books from contemporary, young-adult, mystery, inspirational and recently historical fiction genres. I am interested in reading books under classics and psychological genres and also books that have won literary awards. Beginning June of this year, I started to collect books that I want to read under these genres.

I always love reading but it was only limited to magazines, books with illustration, pocket books written in Filipino language, interesting articles from the newspaper, poems and short stories. I do not read English novels that is why I never got interested to read any Harry Potter books or The Lord of the Rings because the number of pages intimidates me. I preferred to just watch the movie adaptations. It was just out of my league until the year 2010, when I decided to try reading English novels. Maybe, my frequent visits to the bookstore has something to do with it. The book that began it all is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho which I borrowed from my friend’s roommate. The story is just so good and inspiring that I began to crave for more books to read may it be fiction or not.

I realized that books can bring you to places you’ve never been to and let you see what other people are going through in life. It is just amazing and I will never ever regret the decision I made.

My current favorite books are Ransom Riggs’ Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and Hollow City.

I am inspired by book blogs I find here on the web and how the bloggers express their love for reading books, so I created a book blog of my own where I will share my thoughts on books I read through writing book reviews, recommend books I like, share quotations and other book related stuff. This blog will also serve as a record of books I read.

I hope that you like what I share here. Enjoy reading! 🙂

You can also find me on Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram and PinterestI also have my blog where I document my life, thoughts and fancies, places I visit and what I read (book and magazine hauls, books to read next and what I’m currently reading).
